stolen summer

We watched this little indie film last night on DVD called "Stolen Summer." Rent this one, y'all!

It was made by an unknown director who won some kind of competition that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck held, and they put up the money.

It's about an Irish Catholic family in Chicago in the mid-70's. Aidan Quinn is the dad, Bonnie Hunt is the mom. They have 8 kids, and their 8 year old son decides to go on a "quest" to convert a Jew to Christianity so that *he can get into heaven himself (his nun teacher has convinced him he's going to hell, and someone tells him the best way to get to heaven is to do good things, and the best thing he can do is convert people.... and so on).

Anyway, it's very funny and touching, the whole story of how his quest evolves.

Really, you'll love it, if you like touching little indie films. :)

I'm not affiliated with the shop above - just happened on it through this article in The Gate about Cafepress -

Looks like they will soon be offering ways to self-publish music and print! Just in time for me to do that zine I've been thinking about, perhaps.

I've been thinking of doing one in pdf form, but I could also offer a print version in my cafepress store.

Too many ideas, not enough time/energy/money.

decisions

Should I drink my last bottle of very good red wine with the very good pizza?

Or shall I save it for a rainy day?
