i was already awake, lying in bed
listening to various snorers
so i felt this one really well -

http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/recenteqs/Quakes/nc51177644.htm

and so i finally gave up trying to sleep
and here i am, typing.

it was further away than the recent east bay quakes
but i felt it much stronger than those
here in the northwestern part of SF.

what is it with all these quakes lately?

guess i should go back to bed
and wait for the end of the world
as we know it.

or not.

I woke up.

It felt more than it was, but hey.

they say it felt stronger than the other recent quakes because it was located at a much deeper level in the earth.

then last night there was that 8.1 or something off the coast of japan, with tsunami watches for the upper west coast. there have been several big ones in that area recently.

the ring of fire has been moving a lot lately.

I woke up but didn't know why

I sat up in bed - wide awake around that time. I didn't consciously feel anything but maybe it woke me up? They keep saying that these quakes are not 'foreshocks' but it worries me some....

they worry me a little too - i don't think they have any way of knowing whether they are foreshocks or are letting pressure off various faults. plus the big ones that have been happening near japan worry me even more in a way - it's the whole ring of fire thing that circles the whole pacific - it's all connected after all!

We don't have earthquakes, but I do empathize with you as far as the snorers in the house!
