OK, here's something good Oprah has done! :)

The Road by Cormac McCarthy

I have been waiting for this book to come out in PB,
and I thought it would be months yet
and the waiting list for the HB at the library
is months long as well.

But I was browsing on Amazon last week
and noticed that the Big O has chosen it for her book club
so it's out in PB all of a sudden and is less than ten dollars.

I started reading it last night and it is GREAT
but then it is Cormac McCarthy.

Sometimes O picks good ones to win her lottery!

So many people have been cheering this development ... I've never even heard of the book. I'll have to pick it up once the paperbacks start making their way into used bookstores :)

now i wish i had bought a HB copy when it first came out - i think it will be considered a classic, and it's never a bad idea to have first editions of classic books in your library :)
