ponder ponder

looks like rain today.
so i should clean the apartment, i suppose.
wish i had a maid.

in mexico i could afford one,
but here,
i am the maid.

the maids in mexico think we gringos are all rich
because compared to them we are.

if we have enough money to travel to another country
and stay there for weeks or months
renting a nice house or apartment
we must be rich, right?

not exactly.
but it's all relative.
(and they can't tell if we've spent our last dime to get there,
or if we have zillions in the bank back home.)

i do find it nice though
to be somewhere
where i feel rich in the monetary sense
because i sure don't feel that way here.

but i digress, as usual.

still pondering what to do with my life
or what's left of it anyway.

which is another thing that makes me feel rich
because the truly poor don't have time or energy
to ponder such things.

poor people have very little angst.
not the kind we middle class whiners have anyway, LOL.

the sun came out
and it's really warmish
so i went for a walk instead
to buy veggies mostly
and lotto tickets.

i think the rain will come tonight.

today on tv they said
that 60 is the new 50.

does that mean 40
is the new 20?

i don't think so.

i'm 6 years younger than my chron age, it says.

so for me, 54 is the new 48.

but by the end of this year,
i want to take another 8 or 10 years off that.
