vote for sanity

Jane Smiley wrote a great essay on Bush the Madman, which ends like this...

...but she forgot to address the voters (and non-voters) of 2000 and 2004, and the Congresspeople who wrote the blank check. They certainly share a large part of the blame as well, whether they did it out of malice or just plain stupidity.
Hindsight is 20-20 and all that, but what we really need is a majority of voters in this country with better foresight. Even the slimmest of majorities will do, so I hope more people will get off their butts and vote for SANITY in 2008, if we even have a country left to save by that time.
