sleepless in sf

i could not sleep last night
for the life of me
and ended up awake until about three
reading a book about digital photography
and fiddling with the settings on my big c8080.

i've been taking pics all my life
and i feel like my composition skills
have always been there
but i hate learning the technical stuff
only i know it will help in the long run.

so the book was helpful, i think -
will test out some of the helpful hints
with the big camera today perhaps.

i've had the big cam a year and a half
and still haven't learned half of what it can do
i am sure.

it's amazing
that i can take halfway decent pics at all
i sometimes think :)

other times
i just pretend
i am an idiot savant
with an expensive toy.
