bring on the fog

the tree museum

we went to muir woods today
aka the tree museum
in marin county.

marin used to be covered with redwoods
but now it's mostly pasture land
since 99% of the trees were cut down
long long ago.

after our walk there,
we went down into mill valley for lunch
at a small diner called 'toast.'

it used to be the sunnyside cafe
but i guess someone else bought it.

i had the bolinas omelette
which was full of wild mushrooms
spinach and brie.

it was quite good.

and i am one of those people
who even knows how to find bolinas ;-)

carlos santana came in to eat
while we were there.

nice to see he's still kickin'.
last time we saw him around
was in another restaurant
in marin county.

after lunch we went to the MV whole foods
which is like another planet.

bought some fruit and veggies there
and came home and did the laundry
and now i am hungry again.

plus it's been so hot and dry
and i like cool and damp much better.

enough of this earthquake weather already.
bring on the fog.
