happy halloween

A white pumpkin from 2004, but it's one of my fave pics that I ever took at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market.

Anyway we are back from up the coast a little while ago - tried to beat the suburbanite traffic coming into the City for H'ween but 101 was crazy from Santa Rosa all the way to SF. The Bay Bridge still being closed does not help matters.

Wish all the extra people would just stay in their own towns on H'ween and make trouble there instead of here. Oh well... not meaning to sound cranky but I thought we were going to die on the freeway!

We had a great time up in Mendocino and Fort Bragg though - the weather was perfect and we hiked about ten miles each day and ate lots of yummy food as well. We even stayed an extra night just because it was so beautiful we didn't want to come home, and were also not keen on driving back on Friday with the Bay Bridge still out of commission, making all the other freeways worse than ever.

Now I think we should have stayed a fourth night and come back tomorrow instead. But I am also glad to be home, and we didn't die on the freeway, and it's gorgeous here too, and there is going to be a street party on our block tonight in our sleepy little 'hood, so that will be fun as well.

We don't get much into Halloween here anymore - it used to be fun in the 70s when we lived in the Castro and Rachel was a little kid.
