The wall painting progresses.   This is just a small section of wall.

I know some people think abstract art is just random crap, but they would be wrong, it's not random. 

Some of it may be crap though, just like some figurative art is crap.

And I think people who think abstract art is random are usually people who do not know much about art.

OK, maybe some do, but they would still be wrong. :)

It's funny...I actually get a bit intimidated when it comes to abstract. It's something I want to branch out into, but have no idea where to begin!
(I know, I know, just pick up a brush and start, but still)

i just always loved it so i guess i started as a kid by just looking at lots of it and making abstract collages out of bits of paper.

if you're more comfortable with collage, you could start there and start small and then move on to painting walls :)

Abstract art is not crap.
Nor random but it is, except when your name is Kadinsky or Delaunay.

It's made by humans, and therefore cannot be totally random.

exactly - we choose the colors, we choose the composition, we choose the texture, the size, the materials, and the thoughts and emotions that go into the process are not random at all.
