gray weekend

such a cold gray weekend
i am glad i cancelled the car.

decided to send the lumix back
not because i don't like it -
i just think i can do better in a few months
at getting a camera that will do what i want
and at the same time not be too heavy or bulky.

so anyway we have been mostly hibernating
yesterday and today.

went over to r's briefly yesterday
and today did the laundry
and that's all the going outside i've done.

maybe tomorrow
i will feel like going out more
or maybe not.

i did sleep somewhat better last night
for the first time in four days
but at 1:30 a.m. my neighbor got up
and was walking around above my head
loudly for some reason, so that woke me up
but i did go back to sleep pretty soon after that.

so that's it - quiet weekend so far.

- golden gate national cemetery in the presidio -

the picture was taken last fall
on a day when no one was out there
but us.

today there will be flags everywhere
and lots of people i'm sure
but i prefer to go there on other days.
