An oldie from one of our many trips to the MCBG. I love going in August because that's when EVERYthing is blooming - the dahlias, the begonias, the fuschias, the heather.

Spring is great for the wildflowers everywhere, but August up there, oh my. So that's why we have to go in August, even if just for two nights.

Soon we go, well, in two weeks... and maybe I can get some more great pics in Mendocino village as well.  Walking on the headlands there is so gorgeous, and all around town as well - it's all about the views. :)

Some of my Mendo pics are supposed to be appearing on the Mendocino Hotel site very soon - maybe they are up by now, but I haven't checked. I think he said the first week in August was their goal for the new design.

We have a dahlia garden in SF too - right next to the Conservatory of Flowers in GGP. I need to go there at least once in August as well.

The MCBG dahlias are maintained by the same people who do the SF garden, I believe.
