resizing images requires human interaction in sharpening which is different for different images as well as sharpening methods. For example, one should sharpen differently for textures than one should for distinct high contrast lines. I liken most of these automatic-type programs as drugstore processing-yeah, they work but only on certain, and a small percentage of images.
