same here - i threw out a huge bunch a few months ago like that - i just came across this box today and didn't realize what was in it. mostly it's dozens of pics from arizona, new mexico and hawaii and some mendocino, all from the 70s and 80s. i'll toss about 90% of them once i sift throw the whole lot.
Yea..i'm not sure i want all my childhood vacation photos that don't have people in them.A couple of old grand Canyon and old Tucson photos are kinda cute, or the ocean..too many, who are you going to show??
the ones with joe or rachel or friends in them, i tend to keep - but there are so many landscapey ones that are not any good. a few are worth keeping, but most, into the recycle bin they will go.
i was really trying to take good pics back then but just did not have the money to buy a real camera at the time and then be constantly paying for film and processing too while taking too many "mistakes."
so getting my first digital in 1999 was like heaven to me, even though the size of the pics was only 640x480, i so loved that camera!
I was really happy to get my digital too..probably aroun d that time.I no longer had to care about money. The first digital i ever used was for a project in 1991(?). It was very cool..but provided by the local community college. They were so expensive and really didn't hold many pictures, i just filed it away, hoping they'd one day be less expensive. I was still kind of resistant tho to using digital all the time..my husband would tell me how great it would be..and what i could do on the computer.
Now we are reversed. He has a darkroom set up and is back to shooting film.
