The picture is an oldie, from 2004, many cameras ago.

And now I see tomorrow is my 7 year anniversary on LiveJournal.

Before that, I was on CompuServe for many years until it went belly up (AOL bought it and ruined it at some point).

Before that... there was The WELL and usenet.

In between all that were various web forums and Yahoo groups that were run by individuals, some of whom were certifiable. Oh some were OK, but some were definitely not OK.

Those were the worst times I spent online, and at one point I took a vacation from "social media" for about two years because I was convinced 99% of the people online needed to be in mental hospitals.

When I came back, that's when I joined LJ, in 2002.

And now there is FaceBook and Twitter and so on.

LJ and FB are OK. Twitter, I don't use much but I can see why some people like it.

For almost 20 years I didn't know one single person online who was from my group of old friends - they were all Luddites as far as I could tell. Now most of them are on FB, having just recently discovered how to use a social media site. So that's interesting and mostly fun.

Life goes one and time does fly and all those other trite sayings.

But anyway, seven years on LJ does seem to have gone by pretty fast!

Like the decades online overall, very fast... but I am still here all over the interwebs, still not done. :)
