An old fave, taken many cameras ago - a Victorian angel on a wall at Ghirardelli Square. We used to sit next to this angel often, when there was a Belgian beer and fries place there that we enjoyed visiting.

That cafe is no longer there, and I don't know if the angel is there anymore either. I hope so, but they have been turning Ghirardelli into a luxury hotel / condo / spa place the past few years and we stopped going there.

Edit - Fritz Fries  - the fries place is now in Hayes Valley and The Mission,  We've been to the one in Hayes Valley a few times before it moved.  Great beer and fries, but we just don't go to Hayes Valley or The Mission very often.   We used to love the one at Ghirardelli because you could sit outside on a balcony with a view of the bay, and walk over the hill to and from Fort Mason with views all the way.

it is a great place - when we would go to the one in hayes valley though, we were always the oldest people in there. which didn't bother me, it was just interesting to be like 100 years older than all the other customers :)
