The Palace of the Legion of Honor in SF is having an exhibit of artists' books, for anyone else interested in that sort of thing -

The illuminated manuscripts from Italy that are also on exhibit now are great too.

As is the whole museum.

I think we'll go to see the artists' books showing on Sunday. Saturday, we're planning to go to the Marin Art Fest, and do some shopping on 4th St. in San Rafael as well.

I know, I know, Saturday is the Summer Solstice, but I am not much into all that pagan, goddessy, witchy-woman stuff. A little bit of that goes a really long way for me, hehe. I'm not crazy about holidays in general, no matter who invented them.

Every day's a holiday for me these days anyway. :)

I am so done with people who sign on for projects and then flake out. Yes, we are all so very, very busy, especially those of us who have to Make A Living (should I put a "tm" on that? LOL).

But still, why do people even commit to things they can't be bothered to follow through with? Like they will say they sent something that they never sent, and then months later, after you've asked them about it several times, they finally tell you they never mailed it?

Or else they just keep your property and disappear, proving they are worse than just garden-variety flakes.

This is not a question I really need answers to though. I know why, and I am just venting a tiny bit. I know there are a lot of flakes out there. I guess I just needed to be reminded a few more times before I was really truly finished entering into group projects. Most people are great about following through, but it only takes a few flakes to make a project more trouble than it's worth to me.

I've been leery of group projects since I was a kid, so I really should know better. I really try to keep an open mind though, sometimes to a fault, meaning I get screwed more times than is really necessary. It's a very minor kind of screwing with things like this, but it still rates being a peeve, I suppose.

Yes, I have my shortcomings too and I know exactly what they are, thank you (no need to email me with a laundry list of things about myself that you think I don't already know, especially if YOU barely know me and you would not appreciate getting a similar list back from me, hehe) - but one thing I also know about myself is that if I say I did something, I really did in fact DO it.

Back to work I go...

Anyone out there been to Sedona?

I have a sister who moved there a couple years ago and raves about it, and my mom just moved there to be closer to a relative, but I've never been there (have been to Northern AZ but skipped Sedona).

A friend I talked to yesterday said he's been there but didn't like it - he said it was way too "new agey" for his taste, and that you couldn't escape that part of it at all unless you went for a hike in the desert or something.

I've heard it's very new agey, but just HOW much of that pervades the whole place, I have no idea, having never been there myself, so I'm asking for reviews from those of you who have.

I may go later this year for a little visit, and am curious what to expect, after getting just one "love it" and one "hate it" impression so far.
