Well, one is a man, thank goodness, and the other two are not really "ladies" - but they are all very nice, very funny people I used to work with. We have lunch on occasion, which is what I will be doing with them today. Which means I will be downtown basically all day. It takes an hour to get down there on Muni from out here by the ocean - it's a very long 7 miles, that's for sure.

But it will be fun to chat with them, and I have other errands to do - mail a bunch more collage/AB packs out, go to University Art store across from Rincon, maybe hit Pearl and Borders (but those places just take too long). Check out the progress of the beautiful new farmers' market at the finally restored Ferry Building, walk along the Bay for a while.

If I stay down there until at least 4, I can get an express bus back out here, which would only take 20 minutes instead of 60. And I would see all the faces I used to see every day on the 31AX bus when I used to be a cubicle prisoner myself downtown.

Anyway, fun day ahead, and the sun is shining, and all is well in JudyWorld. :)

great week

It's been a great week so far, pet peeves notwithstanding. I've especially enjoyed my role as a mosquito, hehe. Sometimes this, sometimes that, just like everyone else.

For my non-LJ friends who read this, remember you can only see maybe half of what I say here, so if you want the other half, email me and I will give you a code. It's not that interesting really, but who knows, you may want a code anyway and I have a few left to hand out.

Had a lovely time downtown today with the old co-workers... I should go down there more often, but it's such a long bus ride unles I go early in the morning when the express buses are running. I did get an express back, and it was strange to see so many of the same faces I used to see on the bus every day at that same time.

I bought Joe a book on retiring in Mexico, LOL... it's full of good info on various towns and all kinds of things that would be useful to know even if one isn't retiring but just thinking about a sabbatical.

The website for San Miguel de Allende was very pretty, but it seemed geared to very rich tourists. The book has more info for people on a budget, and I sounded like you could live there for maybe $1,000 net a month if you rented an apartment and ate your normal amount and did your normal things - which is about one-forth of what it costs to scrape by in SF per month. For an extra $120 a month you can hire a full time maid.

Some of my friends have household help, but I sure never have, so that would be interesting for a few months.

Just daydreaming, but then again, maybe not.
