big bad love

we also watched "big bad love" last night -

starring arliss howard and debra winger (who are married in real life),
and the rest of the cast is stellar as well.

i've wanted to see it since ms. winger did some interviews about it last year.
she rarely makes films anymore and rarely does interviews either.

she's 50ish and hasn't has any plastic surgery,
and isn't planning to,
so there aren't a lot of roles for her in hollywood/mainstream movies,
and she probably doesn't want to do much mainstream work anymore
even if they asked her to,
which apparently they are not.

we don't get to see much of her
and that's a shame.

so she dropped out in 1995
and this is the first film she'd done since then
i believe.

so anyway,
if you like very quirky indie films,
rent this one.

the music in the film is GREAT as well
and i am going to have to get the cd or download the songs.

AND, the old royal typewriter he uses in the film
is EXACTLY like the one i bought last fall
at a garage sale :)

but of course you get to keep the book,
