Lake Tahoe, the view looking west while walking on the beach at our hotel.  I think the elevation at lake level is about 6000 feet, and then the mountains are several thousand more above that.   More info on Tahoe here.

We had a great time at Yosemite first for three days, then Tahoe for three more. I took more than 400 pictures and will look at them tomorrow and upload more.

We had planned to come home Saturday but our brakes needed a bit of fixing before heading down the mountain, so we stayed an extra night and had Midas check them and replace the pads and so on.

Today we drove home in record time, and I am glad to be back in SF now, much as I enjoyed the time in the mountains too.
