Me neither Cairo/Paris. Maybe if the blue states joined with Canada I'd be OK with that; the Reds could then become some backward, fundamentalist "Jesusland" like that web map I saw.

Have you ever sat in a cafe, look out on the street, and somehow realised the Bay Area is is a little country of it's own? We've got such a marvelous biodiversity in the what..9-12 counties (depending on how south or north you go...) and regionalism certainly really means something when you go from San Jose to Oakland and then up here to Santa Rosa...

But I'd like the effen rain to stop. And housing prices to go down at least 40% even though of course, that would shock the RE agents into needing defib machines.

i've been sitting in cafes in SF since 1970 :)

but we are still under living the laws of the state of CA and the federal government
so no, i don't fee like SF is a little country of its own.
