my conclusion this week
as you can see on my moleskine calendar
is that paris is too expensive.

actually it was the airfare
that was ridiculous -
for the week i wanted to go in april
it was 1200 per person
at every site i checked.

ain't gonna happen at that rate.

i am so envious of my friend joan
who is going there FOR FREE that week.

oh well... some other time.
in the meantime we can save our pennies
and maybe go to europe in the fall.

How about this: SF to Munich for 262 one way - then, an overnight train to Paris.

keep checking the 'special deals' in the Planning Travel menu on United.com
It changes pretty frequently and Paris comes up sometimes. Bookmark it and check every day and you might get a good deal.

thanks - i was looking for nonstop flights from SF to Paris during Easter week in April and I did check United but it said 1200 dollars. Same for other airlines. But I will keep checking once in a while. If we can't go then (when our friend is going) then we may as well wait until fall though.
