oh god, now there's ANOTHER new lumix

this one looks like a great point and shoot cam too -
bigger than the little canon a620 i have been carrying around lately
but smaller than the dslr cams and the c8080 olympus i had
that got to be just way too bulky and heavy.

should i buy this one or the bigger lumix
which costs 200 more?

going on a little vacation in two weeks -
but can i decide before then?

We just got a fabulous price on a Nikon D80 (less than half price), and I am soooo in love with that camera. It's more than a snapshot camera, but not as super-duper as a pro's camera. It's fairly lightweight too, even with the zoom lens. I just downloaded a couple hundred shots from the memory card today. I am going to have so much fun in PhotoShop this week!

As to what to buy...get the best you can afford, and which is also the most comfortable to take on holiday. Have fun!

well it's not so much a matter of the price as long as it's under about 1000 - the d80 looks great but is a DSLR and i think it would be just as bulky as the ones i have tried before that became just too unweidly for me to carry around as much as i wanted to.

so i have been looking for something kind of in between - bigger than my pocketcam but smaller than a DSLR, that will take very clear pictures, and has to be at least 7 mp or more.

people were raving about the larger lumix than the new one i was mentioning - but i haven't tried it out yet.

but who knows, i might go with a DSLR after all, either a canon or a nikon most likely.
